How do you promote a new blog?

1. Think of everyone you know who is interested in your blog’s topic, and invite them to follow your blog
2. Search LinkedIn for people with relevant interests and/or expertise, and invite them to follow your blog
3. Look for related blogs, find a relevant post, and add a comment with an appropriate link to your blog
4. Look for relevant communities and post in them with a brief message about your blog; if their rules on self-promotion prohibit this, find a relevant post and reply to it with an appropriate link to one of your blog posts
5. Request that a link to your blog be added to relevant web sites and to the blogrolls of related blogs
6. Ask well-connected people to share a brief message about your blog with their social networks
7. Write and submit articles to publications that reach your target audience, including a link to your blog in the articles.
8. Use social media to publicize your blog, including tweets and LinkedIn posts using all relevant hashtags
9. Find lists of blogs about your topic, and ask that your blog be included
10. Offer an incentive to subscribe to your blog, such as providing a free copy of an article, or a chance to win a free copy of a book
